advice for someone
I support

Much of the advice on the pages for care-experienced people will also apply to those who are supporting them, but there is also specific advice for carers, educators and other supportive adults here.

Our main top tip is to build your awareness. Are you a foster carer or social worker? Look for opportunities to build your understanding of university. Do you work in a school, college or university? Try to learn more about what being care-experienced may mean for your students. Being both knowledgeable and understanding is key in supporting anyone through their educational journey and is especially important if you are supporting a care-experienced individual who may not have as much support as their peers.
